Liberty sophomore QB Kaidon Salter continued to earn national recognition following his massive performance in last week's win over Buffalo.
Salter Tuesday was named the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week after also landing a spot on the Manning Award Stars of the Week and the Davey O'Brien Great 8 lists.
Salter has had a tremendous start to his 2023 season for the 3-0 Flames. The sophomore has completed 42-71 passes for 763 yards with nine touchdowns and no interceptions, while also carrying 38 times for 191 yards and three more touchdowns.
He was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week after a stellar performance in the 55-27 win at Buffalo, completing 16-26 passes for 344 yards, five passing touchdowns and no interceptions to go along with 10 carries for 66 yards and another score.
Through Week 3 of the season, Salter ranks second nationally in points responsible for per game (24.0) behind only last year’s Heisman Trophy winner, Caleb Williams. Salter is also fourth in total points responsible for (72), fourth in passing yards per completion (18.17), eighth in passing touchdowns (9), ninth in passing efficiency (191.3), 10th in yards per pass attempt (10.75) and 15th in total offense per game (318.0).
Salter and the Flames travel to Miami this week for a conference battle against 3-1 FIU at 5:30 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
