The University of Michigan men's basketball team secured a win over previously undefeated No. 11 Wisconsin, 67-64, on Tuesday night (Dec. 3) at the Kohl Center.

Goldin and Wolf traded baskets early to claim 15 of the Wolverines' 18 points over the course of the first eight minutes of the second half, fueling a 44-41 U-M lead.

Lackluster defensive rebounding by Michigan (7-1, 1-0 Big Ten) gave Wisconsin (8-1, 0-1 Big Ten) seven second-chance points to tie the game at 52 with 7:53 remaining. Five-for-five shooting gave the Wolverines a slight edge over the Badgers in a back-and-forth stretch with four lead changes in five minutes.

U-M finished the game scoring six unanswered points, all by Goldin, over the last 2:30, giving the Wolverines their first Big Ten victory of the season in a road matchup against a ranked opponent.

Michigan dominated the open court, scoring 19 fast-break points compared to Wisconsin's four. The Wolverines improved their three-point field goal percentage to 44% in the second half while holding the Badgers to only 19%. Eight rejections by Michigan's 7-footers, contributing to 11 total, dwarfed Wisconsin's six blocks.

A slow offensive start for both teams gave Wisconsin a 7-6 lead more than five minutes into the game. Michigan did not make its third field goal until the 13:59 mark, before giving up a 7-0 run over nearly three minutes.

Two Wolf free throws kicked off U-M's own seven-straight points, which grew into a 12-1 run, putting the Wolverines up 20-18 with just under eight minutes to go. An 11-0 Wisconsin run brought the Badgers back up by nine with 2:40 to play. Six made free throws by the Wolverines cut the Badgers' lead to six at the end of the first half, 32-26.

No player on either team scored in double figures in a low-scoring half. Michigan shot 12.5% on three-pointers (2-for-16) and had only three players score more than two points. Wolf led the team with nine points, in addition to his six rebounds and five blocks in the first half.
