Saint Mary's Men's Basketball announced the addition of 6-foot-8 forward Ashton Hardaway to their 2024-25 roster today. Hardaway comes to Saint Mary's after spending his freshman season at Memphis.
Hardaway was ranked No. 92 in ESPN's top 100 rankings and was a four-star recruit coming out of high school, where he played at Sierra Canyon in Southern California. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Last season at Memphis, Hardaway carved out a role in the Memphis rotation early on during the 2023-24. He averaged 2.3 points in 30 appearances and made three starts. Noted as a shooter out of high school, Hardaway flashed that ability while knocking down 17 3-pointers last season at a 33% clip. His best performance came when he scored 17 points and made five 3-pointers in a 71-67 Tigers' win over Michigan during the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas.
The Gaels' offseason additions now include transfers Paulius Murauskas from Arizona, Hardaway from Memphis, and incoming freshmen Mikey Lewis (four-star; No. 95 ESPN ranking), Liam Campbell (four-star; No. 80 ESPN ranking) and Josh Dent (Under 17 Australian National Team; NBA Global Academy Team).
