Louisiana Tech head coach Talvin Hester continues to put the final pieces of his basketball roster together with the signing of Tyler Henry, a transfer from Southern Indiana.
Henry, a 6-foot-4, 186-pound guard from Brooklyn, New York brings perimeter experience to LA Tech, having eclipsed 1,000 career points in his collegiate career at both Southern Indiana and Lane College.
"We are excited about adding Tyler to our roster," said Hester. "As a graduate transfer, he will add much-needed experience at one of our guard spots."
Henry has spent the last three seasons at USI, seeing action in 72 games while making 46 starts in the back court. He averaged 9.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.1 steals during his career with the Screaming Eagles.
This past season, he was part of USI's first NCAA Division I regular season and its first season in the Ohio Valley Conference. Their first DI season included a postseason appearance in the College Basketball Invitational (CBI).
Henry averaged 7.8 points in 2022-23, scoring a season-high 20 points at Southeast Missouri. For his career with the Eagles, he shot 36.9 percent from the field, 33.7 percent from three, and 81.0 percent from the foul line.
Played freshman season at Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee where he averaged a team-best 15.6 points per game. In high school, he lettered at Putnam Science Academy in Putnam, Connecticut where he was named Player of the Year as a senior, averaging 23.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game.
