Oklahoma State men's basketball grabbed its first road win of the season on Sunday, beating Oakland 91-62 behind an explosive offensive performance that included 12 three-pointers from five different Cowboys.
The Cowboys led for nearly the entire game after taking the lead four minutes into the first half and holding the lead for the rest of the game.
Avery Anderson III topped the team with 18 points and seven assists, while John-Michael Wright scored a season-high 16 points behind four three-point field goals.
Moussa Cisse collected his eighth career double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. Cisse dominated defensively once again, swatting three of the Cowboys five blocks in the contest.
Caleb Asberry and Chris Harris Jr. gave the Cowboys a much-needed boost off the bench offensively. Asberry scored a season-high 13 points and Harris Jr. made three from beyond the arc, totaling nine points. The two scored 21 of the Cowboys 33 bench points.
The Cowboys held a 36-point lead with 2:24 remaining in the game, their largest of the season.
Oakland came into Sunday's contest with a three-game win streak over Power-5 opponents on its home-court, but the Cowboys 15-point halftime lead took the crowd out of it. The closest Oakland got in the second half was within nine points, but the Cowboys continued to pour in bucket after bucket to gather a convincing road win.
The Cowboys will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 18 in the Baha Mar Hoops tournament against future Big-12 foe UCF in the Bahamas.
