Texas Baseball scored a season-high 17 runs and defeated Incarnate Word 17-11 on Tuesday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

The Longhorns (15-7) extended their winning streak to 11 games and will now turn their attention to Big 12 Conference play against No. 14 Texas Tech, starting Friday at 7 p.m. at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

Texas blasted five home runs and had 15 total hits, led by a pair of homers from Garret Guillemette. He finished 2-for-4 with five RBI and four runs scored, while Porter Brown was 3-for-5 with four RBI and two runs scored and Jack O'Dowd went 4-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored.

Charlie Hurley started and pitched four innings with four strikeouts and just one run allowed. As the designated starter, he picked up his second win of the season and is now 2-0 on the season.

Incarnate Word took a quick lead in the top of the first with a solo home run off of Hurley.

In the bottom of the first, the Longhorns responded quickly with four runs on two outs to take a 4-1 lead. After a walk by Dylan Campbell and fielding error, Brown hit an RBI single to tie the game. O'Dowd followed with a three-run homer to launch the Longhorns into the lead.

Texas extended the lead to 5-1 in the second inning as Eric Kennedy hit an RBI single to center to drive in Rylan Galvan.

Guillemette added to the Longhorns' lead, hitting his first home run of the season to lead off the bottom of the third. The solo shot made the score 6-1.

The Longhorns scored three more runs in the fourth on two more home runs and an error to go up 10-1. Campbell hit a solo homer before Guillemette walked and Brown hit a two-run blast. O'Dowd kept the inning alive with a double and came around to score on an error.

The Cardinals cut into the Texas lead with three runs in the fifth on three free passes.

Texas got one of the runs back in the bottom of the fifth but then Incarnate Word scored three more runs in the sixth inning to make the score 11-7.

The Longhorns grabbed a commanding 17-7 lead with six runs in the bottom of the sixth. After back-to-back RBI walks by Peyton Powell and Campbell, Guillemette launched a grand slam for his second homer of the day.

UIW scored two in the eighth and two more in the ninth to trim the score to 17-11.
