Boston College men's hockey is heading to the NCAA Tournament as the No. 1 overall seed for the second-straight season and fourth time in program history. The Eagles (26-7-2) open at the Manchester Regional on Friday, March 28 at 2:00 p.m. against Bentley at the SNHU Arena.
BC was previously the No. 1 overall seed in 2005, 2012, and 2024. The Eagles embark on their 38th NCAA Tournament appearance.
The Eagles claimed their second-straight Hockey Regular Season Championship and 19th in program history, while sitting in the top spot in the Pairwise for the majority of the season. The Eagles wrapped up the regular season with four players earning Hockey East First Team All-Star honors, the most in a single season in program history.
Boston College is 52-44 all-time in the NCAA Tournament. The Eagles have won NCAA Championships in 1949, 2001, 2008, 2010 and 2012 and have appeared in 26 Frozen Fours; most recently in 2024.
Joining BC and Bentley, the AHA Champions, in Manchester are Providence and defending National Champions Denver. The Eagles are 0-2 all-time against Bentley. The two teams last met on Oct. 16, 2021 at Bentley; a 6-2 win for the Falcons. This also marks the first time in the 16-team era of the NCAA Tournament that the two teams from the previous National Championship game were placed in the same regional the following year.
