Patrick Moynihan and Nick Poisson scored but the Friars couldn't overcome an early deficit as Boston University scored a 5-2 win over the No. 17 Providence College men's hockey team on Sunday afternoon at Agganis Arena.

- Wilmer Skoog on the Terriers on the board at 1:29 of the first period as he converted on an odd-man rush.
- Ethan Phillips gave the Terriers a 2-0 lead at 13:04 after intercepting a clearing attempt and firing a wrist shot over the blocker of Stauber.
- The Friars came out strong in the second period, outshooting Boston University by a 16-6 margin. Patrick Moynihan cut the deficit in half at 14:24 with his ninth goal of the season after he one-timed a backhand pass from Davis Bunz.
- Skoog's second of the game extended the BU lead back to two after he fired a shot directly off a faceoff past Stauber.
- Domenick Fensore gave the Terriers a 4-1 lead on the power play at 6:51.
- Nick Poisson tried to start a rally as he cashed in on the power play for his eighth of the season to make it a 4-2 game. Brett Berard earned his second assist of the game on the play.
- Jay O'Brien sealed the game with an empty-net goal with 1:50 remaining.
- The Friars' unbeaten streak was snapped at three games (2-0-1).
- With two assists, Berard reached the 30-point plateau for this season (13-17-30).
