Rumors were swirling as to why New Mexico State MBB shuttered their program for the rest of the season. A couple of months after a player shot someone in alleged self-defense, some serious claims of hazing have arisen. Turns out NMSU is awful both on and off the court.

From CBS Sports: According to a police report obtained by KTSM-TV, three players are facing a trio of offenses, including one count of false imprisonment, one count of harassment and two counts of criminal sexual contact. The victim, a member of the basketball team, claims that on Feb. 6, 2023, three members of the team whose names were redacted in the police report "held him down with him facing down, removed his clothing exposing his buttocks and began to 'slap his ass.' He also went on to state that they also touched his scrotum."

Will be interesting to see what penalties beyond legal repercussions may be handed down.

That story is insane. I think most fans that frequent BCSNN have been around long enough to see some wild stuff go down with certain programs (Baylor in the early 00s, anyone?). But NMSU was running a school sanctioned gang.
