The University of Texas continues its 129th season of football on Saturday when the Longhorns meet Rice at Darrell K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium. Texas enters the game with 924 wins, the fourth-most in college football history. UT holds an all-time record of 924-378-33 (.704).

Texas leads the all-time series with Arkansas at 73-21-1 and is 43-8 all-time against the Owls at home.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES

  • Saturday's game marks the 96th all-time meeting between the two former Southwest Conference rivals, and the first since 2019. 
  • UT bested Rice, 48-13, at NRG Stadium in the teams' last meeting. 
  • Texas holds a 73-21-1 advantage in the all-time series and has won 14 straight against the Owls. The Horns have won 42 of their last 43 meetings against Rice, dating back to 1966. 
  • UT is 43-8 all-time against Rice in Austin and defeated the Owls 42-28 in 2015 during the teams' last meeting at Darrell K Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium. 
  • Texas has won 23-straight games against Rice at Darrell K Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium, a streak that began with a 28-6 victory in 1967. 
  • The Longhorns and Owls faced off every year from 1914- 1995 with Texas compiling a record of 60-21-1.

  • Be Texas' 925th victory all-time, keeping UT as the fourth-winningest program in college football history.

Bijan Breaking Through

  • Sophomore RB Bijan Robinson opened the 2021 campaign in style, earning Walter Camp Football Foundation (WCFF) National Offensive Player of the Week honors after racking up 176 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns, including 103 on the ground and a touchdown on 20 carries, along with four receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown in leading the Longhorns to an opening week win over No. 23 Louisiana. 
  • Over his last six games, Robinson has totaled 694 rushing yards (115.7 ypg) on 86 carries (8.1 ypc) with six touchdowns, while also hauling in 13 receptions for 206 yards (15.8 ypc) and scoring three touchdowns. All told, he has 900 yards on 99 plays for 9.1 yards per play with nine touchdowns. 
  • In the last six games, Robinson has eclipsed 100 yards rushing four times with the Longhorns coming away victorious in all four games. 
  • Has rushed for one or more touchdowns in each of the last four games, scoring six in that span.

Dynamic DeMarvion

  • Senior LB DeMarvion Overshown has played in 29 games and made 14 starts during his collegiate career. 
  • In UT's season-opening win over Louisiana, Overshown registered a career-best 13 tackles (4 solo), while also picking up a half sack for a loss of four yards. 
  • He has registered 100 tackles (58 solo), 16.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, 10 pass breakups, three interceptions, three forced fumbles and one recovered in his career. 
  • He collected a team-high eight tackles against Arkansas, the second-straight game in which he has led the team in tackles. 
  • Overshown has recorded 21 tackles in the first two games of the season, the most tackles for a Longhorn in the first two contests of the season since Cedric Reed had 24 in 2013.

Dicker the Kicker

  • Senior K Cameron Dicker went 3-for-3 on extra point attempts against Arkansas, bringing his career scoring total to 309 points.
  • His 309 career points moved him into fifth on the Longhorns' all-time scoring list and he now stand third in scoring all-time among UT kickers.
