North Texas football will square off with Texas State in a home-and-home series during the 2026 and 2030 seasons, the two programs announced.
UNT will travel to San Marcos on Sept. 26, 2026 before hosting Texas State at Apogee Stadium on Aug. 31, 2030. The two programs last met in 1994, a 27-14 victory for North Texas, when both were members of the Southland Conference.
The Mean Green lead the all-time series 30-7-2, including victories in the last three matchups.
Additionally, North Texas will host Abilene Christian in 2023 and Houston Baptist in 2026 in non-conference action. The all-time series with ACU dates back to 1926. UNT leads 17-8-1 including a 51-31 victory to open the 2019 season.
The meeting with Houston Baptist will be the second between the two programs following a 57-31 victory at Apogee Stadium by the Mean Green to open the 2020 season.
North Texas opens the 2021 season at Apogee Stadium against Northwestern State at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 4. Season tickets, mini plans and single-game tickets for the 2021 season are now available online.
