Michigan State defensive back Angelo Grose, a five-year letterwinner for the Spartans from 2020-24, will compete in the Tropical Bowl on Sunday, Jan. 19 at 11 a.m. in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The annual collegiate all-star game features players from the around the country in front of NFL personnel.

Grose played in 52 career games for the Spartans, including 45 starts (24 at nickelback, 21 at safety), and recorded 281 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, four interceptions and 20 pass break-ups. He played nearly 3,000 snaps (2,989) in the defensive backfield throughout his five seasons.
The Mansfield, Ohio, native finished his fifth and final season in East Lansing with 50 tackles, including a career-high 3.5 TFLs, along with two pass break-ups and one interception in 2024. Playing in his last game as a Spartan, Grose recorded double-digit tackles for the eighth time in his career with 10 stops against Rutgers on Senior Day.
Grose played in seven games, including four starts, as a true freshman in 2020, then recorded a career-high 83 tackles and seven pass break-ups while starting all 13 games as a sophomore in 2021 as Michigan State went 11-2, won the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, and finished No. 9 in the AP Poll.
Grose had 53 tackles in eight games, all starts, in 2022, and finished with 72 tackles in 12 games, including 10 starts, during the 2023 season.
He graduated from Michigan State in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies in social science.
