The University of Louisville football team completed a 20-point comeback to defeat Boston College, 31-27, on Friday night in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
Tyler Shough went 28 for 38 for two touchdowns, Isaac Brown rushed for 85 yards and two scores, and Ja'Corey Brooks added eight receptions for 120 yards to propel the Cardinals comeback win.
Defensively, Louisville had five tackles for loss, two and a half of which came from senior defensive end Ashton Gillotte. Jared Dawson had the lone sack of the night for UofL.
After a Jared Dawson sack and a Boston College punt trailing by 10 early in the fourth quarter, Louisville capped a four-play, 42-yard drive with an 18-yard Isaac Brown rushing touchdown for his second trip to the end zone to cut the deficit to three.
Following another defensive stop, Shough found Nate Kurisky for the go-ahead touchdown, Kurisky's second of the night. The score propelled the Cardinals in front for their first lead of the game, which they would hold onto for the win.
Louisville Head Coach Jeff Brohm said:
"Really proud of our football team. Obviously, things weren't going our way early on, and it was disappointing. To withstand that, continue to play until the end, and find a way to win against a good team on the road -- I couldn't be prouder. It's one of the toughest wins I think I have ever had as far as things not looking good, things continued to steamroll the opposite direction, and then to finally get it back going our way and play to the end -- I'm just proud of the team. Are there things to work on? Sure. Are there things to correct? Yes. We just have to continue to grind away and figure out ways to get better."
