The Illinois football team is ranked #22 in this week's AP Top 25 and #21 in the Coaches Poll. The Fighting Illini are off to a 5-1 start and have been ranked for five consecutive weeks.

Saturday's sold out showdown against #24 Michigan will be the first AP Top 25 ranked vs. ranked game at Memorial Stadium since 2000. It will be the 24th ranked vs. ranked matchup in the history of Memorial Stadium, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary this weekend. 

The game against Michigan will take place 100 years and one day after Red Grange's historic performance in the Memorial Stadium Dedication Game. The Dedication Game famously occurred against Michigan on Oct. 18, 1924, when Grange gained national headlines after scoring four touchdowns in the first 12 minutes to take down the previously undefeated Wolverines. 

Illinois has announced detailed plans for the Rededication weekend, set for Thursday, Oct. 17-Saturday, Oct. 19.
