East Carolina junior placekicker Noah Perek has been named the American Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week according to an announcement by the league.
Perez is the first Pirate to capture a weekly honor this campaign and the first since Andrew Conrad earned special teams accolades back on Nov. 13, 2023, following a 22-7 road victory at Florida Atlantic.
Making his first appearance in an ECU uniform during Saturday's 30-20 league win over UTSA, Perez converted a single game career-high three field goal attempts of 21, 24 and 42 yards while knocking through all three of his point-after tries. He is the first Pirate kicker to score at least 12 points in a contest since Conrad connected on a program single-game record five field goals and a PAT in the aforementioned FAU game.
East Carolina makes its first-ever appearance at Jerry Richardson Stadium next Saturday (Oct. 5) when it visits American Athletic Conference foe Charlotte. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and the game will air live on ESPNU.
