Temple welcomes the Utah State Aggies to Philadelphia for the first time on Saturday, September 21. Kickoff is set for 2:00 pm at Lincoln Financial Field and will air on ESPN+.
LAST WEEK
The Owls lost their home opener against Coastal Carolina by a score of 28-20. Despite outgaining Coastal in total yards, Temple committed two costly turnovers, which led to 14 Chanticleer points.
QB Evan Simon made his first start with the Owls, throwing two touchdown passes on the day. RB Antwain Littleton led the rushing attack for Temple, amassing 74 yards on 14 carries.
Through the air, WR Dante Wright continued to add to his impressive start to the season, catching nine passes for 99 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, LB D.J. Woodbury set a new career high in tackles, surpassing his previous high set in Week 2 against Navy. The senior tallied 15 tackles, as well as adding a sack. Additionally, DB's Andreas Keaton and Javier Morton each added eight tackles, with Morton setting a new career high.
TEMPLE-UTAH STATE HISTORY
Utah State will make their first trip to Lincoln Financial Field this week when they take on Temple. This match-up marks the first time the two schools have faced off in football.
The Aggies aren't the only new opponent Temple will face this season. Last week, the Owls played the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers for the first time in school history. Additionally, when
Florida Atlantic visits Philadelphia on November 16, it will be the first match-up between the two teams. Temple will wrap up its regular season on November 30 at home against North
Texas. Last season's game in Denton was the first contest between the two teams, with the Mean Green visiting Lincoln Financial Field for the first time this year.
