Wisconsin football has announced a home-and-home series with the University of California for the 2029 and 2030 seasons. Wisconsin will play in Berkeley, Calif., on Sept. 1, 2029 before hosting the Golden Bears at Camp Randall Stadium on Aug. 31, 2030.

These non-conference appointments were originally scheduled with UCLA in 2029 and 2030, but were nullified with the Bruins joining the Big Ten Conference beginning in the 2024 season.

The Badgers and Golden Bears will meet for the first time since 1990. Cal holds a 5-1 series lead with Wisconsin's only victory coming in 1946, which marked the first matchup between the programs. The Badgers, owners of a 1-2 record in Berkeley, will be in search of their first home win in the series.

For Wisconsin, the deal with Cal is the latest upcoming major conference, non-conference opponent added to the schedule, joining Alabama (2024 and 2025), Notre Dame (2026), Pittsburgh (2026 and 2027), Utah (2028 and 2033) and Virginia Tech (2031 and 2032). The Notre Dame game in 2026 will take place at Lambeau Field in Green Bay and the 2027 matchup with Pitt will be played in Dublin, Ireland. All others will be played at home stadiums.
