The AP Poll has several Big 12 teams placed in good position to possibly make some big impressions ahead of the all important College Football Playoff Poll that will begin to unfold in November.
No. 11 Texas, No. 16 K-State, No. 17 TCU and No. 20 Oklahoma will begin the 2023 football season ranked in the Preseason Associated Press Top 25. Additionally, Texas Tech, Kansas and Baylor received votes.
All four Top 25 teams were also ranked in the Preseason AFCA Coaches Poll along with Texas Tech, which brings a lot of excitement into 2023 under head coach Joey McGuire.
The Red Raiders were also just one spot outside of the AP's Top 25. Joining Texas Tech in also receiving votes are the Kansas Jayhawks and Baylor Bears.
Labor Day Weekend will see each of the Big 12 teams playing in non-conference action.
UCF gets things started on Thursday, August 31st against the Kent State Golden Flashes in Orlando on FS1. Then KU hosts Missouri State on Friday. That Jayhawks contest is airing on ESPN+.
The league's remaining 12 members get their campaigns underway on Saturday, September 1st. We'll have previews of every game here on BCSNN.
