Syracuse wide receiver and return specialist Trebor Pena has been named to the Paul Hornung Award Watch List.
The Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse is given to the most versatile player in major college football. The award was created by the Louisville Sports Commission in 2010.
Pena has been all over the field in his time at SU. He played in 11 games at wide receiver last year, catching 22 passes for 203 yards. He's also made a name for himself as one of the best return men in college football. The New Jersey native enters the 2023 season ranked fifth among active players in career kick return average (27.0). He also ran the ball twice in the Orange's Pinstripe Bowl game vs. Minnesota last season.
He's the third offensive player to be named to a major award watch list this week for 'Cuse. Quarterback Garrett Shrader and tight end Oronde Gadsden II were both added to the Maxwell Award Watch List on Monday. Gadsden was also tabbed as a Preseason All-ACC selection.
