Max Duggan totaled 418 yards of offense and five touchdowns as TCU dominated from start to finish in a 55-24 victory over No. 18 Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon in Amon G. Carter Stadium.
The Horned Frogs are 4-0 for the first time since 2017, when Head Coach Sonny Dykes was on staff as an offensive analyst. Dykes is the first TCU head coach to win his opening four games since Francis Schmidt in 1929. TCU also remains the lone undefeated FBS program, out of 12, in the state of Texas.
The attendance of 49,094 was the largest since the rebuilt Amon G. Carter Stadium opened in 2012 and second-best in program history, trailing only the 50,307 for the 2009 Utah game.
The Horned Frogs totaled 668 yards of offense with their 479 in the first half being the most by a team nationally in a half against an FBS opponent this season. It was the Horned Frogs' most in a half since at least 2011.
TCU had four touchdowns of at least 62 yards. The Horned Frogs started fast with three touchdowns, including two of at least 67 yards, in the opening 7:43. The Horned Frogs had a 27-point first quarter and led 41-17 at the half.
A takeaway by the TCU defense on the game's opening series set up TCU's first score. After Abe Camara stripped the ball loose from a Sooner, Dee Winters made the recovery at the Oklahoma 46. Four plays later, Duggan hit Savion Williams with a 19-yard touchdown pass to give TCU a 7-0 lead just 2:15 into the game.
The Horned Frogs' lead grew to 13-3 when Duggan hit a wide open Taye Barber downfield for a 73-yard touchdown pass with 8:35 left in the first quarter. It was the second-longest catch of Barber's career.
After the TCU defense stiffened with a fourth-down stop at the TCU 33, Duggan took the first snap of the ensuing series 67 yards for a touchdown to make it a 20-3 game with 7:17 left in the first quarter.
Duggan completed 23-of-33 passes for 302 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. He added 116 yards rushing on just five carries with two additional scores. It was his fourth career 100-yard rushing game.
The first of two Kendre Miller touchdown runs, from 15 yards, extended TCU's lead to 27-10 with seven seconds left in the first quarter. Miller later added a 69-yard touchdown rush as part of 136 yards on 13 carries, his second straight 100-yard game and sixth of his career.
Gunnar Henderson's career long 62-yard touchdown reception, with 1:34 left in the second quarter, made it a 41-17 game at the half.
