Texas Football entered the Associate Press Top 25 for the first time this season, appearing this week at No. 21 following Saturday's narrow defeat to No. 1 Alabama, 20-19. The Longhorns also moved up in the USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll, checking in at No. 20.
The Longhorns (1-1) held a 19-17 lead over the Crimson Tide on Saturday following a 49-yard field goal by Bert Auburn with 1:29 remaining, but Alabama was successful on a 33-yard field goal with 10 seconds left to leave Austin with the victory. Hudson Card completed 14-of-22 passes for 158 yards and Xavier Worthy caught five balls for 97 yards.
Texas will face UTSA at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium this Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT on LHN. It will mark the first-ever game between the Longhorns and the Roadrunners.
