Three Temple football players have been named to the East-West Shrine Bowl 1,000 list, as announced by bowl officials.
Wide receivers Amad Anderson Jr. and Adonicas Sanders, and offensive lineman Isaac Moore have been recognized.
Anderson, a redshirt junior, transferred to the Owls in December 2020 from Purdue. At Purdue, Anderson caught 36 passes for 362 yards and three touchdowns in 17 games. By season's end in 2021, Anderson was the Owls starting wide receiver (24 catches for 283 yards and two touchdowns) and primary kick (20.4 yard average) and punt returner (5.4 yard average).
Sanders, a redshirt senior, transferred this summer from Georgia Tech. Sanders enters 2022 as the most accomplished receiver on the Owls with 65 catches for 834 yards.
Moore, a graduate student, enters 2022 as the most experienced player on the roster. He has played every game for Temple since the 2018 opener - 45 total, including 32 starts. The Sweden native is also one of the most active in community service - he is the Owls nominee for the William V. Campbell and Wuerffel Trophies and AFCA Good Works Team - having adopted Philadelphia as his hometown.
Each year, approximately 1,000 all-star game eligible players are drafted, signed after the draft, or attend a rookie mini-camp. The aim for Shrine Bowl 1,000 is to serve as a look into the scouting process, as well as begin to preview college players who are currently all-star game eligible for the 2023 East-West Shrine Bowl and 2023 NFL Draft class. The comprehensive list includes players from all four levels of college football after consultation with NFL and college personnel.
