Houston Football has made a series of staff updates, including welcoming back a handful of familiar faces, head coach Dana Holgorsen announced Friday.
Courtney Helom joins the Houston Football staff as its director of on-campus recruiting. The Alabama graduate spent 2021 at Texas where she served as the Longhorns' coordinator of recruiting operations following a nearly two-year stint at Kentucky.
The Cougars have also elevated Larry Hart to defensive analyst from defensive consultant. With his support, Houston put together one of the most dominant defensive seasons in program history during 2021 including leading the nation in third down conversion percentage defense (.257).
Former Houston graduate assistant Jajuan Dulaney joins Holgorsen's staff as offensive analyst following one season in the same capacity at Texas. The Georgia native, who previously worked two seasons at Houston, spent his playing career as an offensive lineman at Maryland before transferring to Texas Tech.
Matt Ellerbrock rejoins Houston's program as its defensive analyst following one season as linebackers coach at McNeese. The Midwestern State graduate previously spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Houston under Holgorsen along with another two years in the same role at Arkansas State.
After six seasons with the Houston program as a standout offensive lineman, Keenan Murphy joins the staff as offensive line graduate assistant. The Crosby, Texas, native appeared in 49 games for the Cougars including helping the Cougars to a resurgent offensive effort in 2021 highlighted by a 12-2 record and Birmingham Bowl victory against Auburn.
Demerick Gary heads to Houston as the Cougars' defensive graduate assistant after spending the 2021 season at Arkansas. As a student-athlete, Gary was a four-year letterwinner at SMU. The defensive tackle logged 78 tackles, including 23 for loss alongside 10 sacks in 49 career games played.
