The Texas football team lost on the road to West Virginia, 31-23, on Saturday. Xavier Worthy's 12th receiving touchdown is now tied for the second-most in a season in UT history.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• West Virginia drove down field on its opening drive of the game for 75 yards and scored off a 20-yard pass from Jarret Doege to Sam James.

• The Mountaineers kept the Longhorns off the board and added another touchdown on a 14-yard pass to Winston Wright Jr.

• Texas scored its first points of the game with 8:34 left in the second off a 49-yard rush from Keilan Robinson.

• Mountaineers added a rushing touchdown with 2:34 left in the first half by Leddie Brown to extend the lead to 21-7.

• Cameron Dicker added a season-long 50-yard field goal to cut the West Virginia lead to 21-10 before halftime.

• Both teams exchanged touchdowns in the third quarter. Hudson Card connected with Xavier Worthy on a 52-yard pass, marking his fourth-straight game with a receiving TD and his 12th of the season, which ties him for second-most in UT history. Worthy's touchdown made it 21-17, WVU.

• West Virginia scored off a 7-yard TD pass to extend the lead 28-17.

• Longhorns opened the fourth quarter driving the field off eight plays and capped the 72-yard drive from Roschon Johnson's six-yard rush. Texas failed to convert the 2-point conversion and cut the lead to 28-23.

• Casey Legg added a 45-yard field goal to make it a 31-23 West Virginia lead for the final score of the game.
