Texas Football true freshman wide receiver Xavier Worthy has been added to the Biletnikoff Award watch list, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc. announced on Wednesday. Worthy is the first Longhorn to be named to the watch list since 2019 when both Devin Duvernay and Collin Johnson were recognized by the organization.

Worthy, a Fresno, Calif. native, leads all FBS freshmen with 82.1 receiving yards per game (33 receptions, 657 yards). Worthy's seven TD catches lead all Power 5 freshmen and is second to Corey Rucker of Arkansas State's eight in the FBS. Additionally, his 19.91 yards per catch are 11th-best nationally and tops among FBS freshmen and his 657 receiving yards rank 32nd nationally and are tops among freshmen in the FBS.

Worthy hauled in four passes for 115 yards at Baylor on Saturday, including a first-quarter 63-yard touchdown reception. He is averaging 38.6 yards per touchdown catch (270 yards on seven touchdowns). His seven touchdowns this season are second-most for a freshman in Longhorn history, while his 657 receiving yards rank third among Texas freshmen all time.

The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the college football season's outstanding FBS receiver. Any player, regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot back, and running back) who catches a pass is eligible for the award. As such, the Biletnikoff Award recognizes college football's outstanding receiver, not merely college football's outstanding wide receiver.

The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc., will announce the 10 Biletnikoff Award semifinalists on Nov. 15, 2021, following the vote by the distinguished members of the Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee. Likewise, the three finalists will be declared, following another vote, on Nov. 23, 2021. For complete details and updates on the Biletnikoff Award candidates, visit BiletnikoffAward.com. The Biletnikoff Award Winner will be announced at The Home Depot College Football Awards on Dec. 9, 2021.
