Allen Son, who spent the last three years as a strength coach at IMG Academy, and Mac Ryan, who previously served as a graduate manager on the Temple men's basketball staff, have joined the Temple University men's basketball staff, announced Owls' head coach Aaron McKie.
Son has been named the Director of Men's Basketball Sport Performance while Ryan will serve as the team's video coordinator.
"We are pleased to have welcome Mac and Allen to the Temple Men's Basketball Family," said McKie. "Mac is someone we are very familiar with and who demonstrated during his time here his work ethic and ability to handle our video needs. Allen comes to us highly recommended and with a wealth of experience in strength and conditioning."

He also worked collaboratively with sports medicine/athletic training, strength & conditioning staff, basketball staff and APD staff to provide holistic, high-performance training for student athletes, including five NBA/Overseas professionals and 25-plus Division 1 men's basketball players.
"I'm humbled and honored to join Coach McKie and the Temple basketball program," said Son. "I look forward to contributing to such a storied program and continuing to build upon a championship culture."
The Queens, N.Y. native also worked on the strength and conditioning staffs of three different NCAA Division I schools: Detroit Mercy (2017-18), Michigan (2016-17) and Eastern Michigan (2015-16).

In his former role at Temple, provided film edits for opponent scouting and game review in team and individual film sessions. He also supervised a team of 20 student-managers.
"I couldn't be happier to be back on North Broad Street," said Ryan. "I'm so thankful to Coach McKie for the opportunity to come back and be a part of this program. I'm looking forward to serving the team in a new role and continuing to learn from our terrific staff."
A 2017 graduate of Elon University where he earned a bachelor's degree in sport and event management in 2017, Ryan earned his master's degree in sports business from Temple in 2020.
