The Tulsa Golden Hurricane signed 6'10" junior college big man Nikita Konstantynovskyi to the 2021 signing class, Head Coach Frank Haith announced.
A Kyiv, Ukraine native, Konstantynovskyi, began his college career at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, where he averaged 11.1 points and 8.0 rebounds in 21 games. He helped lead NEO to a 14-9 record and an appearance in the NJCAA South Central District semifinals.
During the 2020-21 season, the big man was 2nd in the NJCAA for field goal percentage with a 60.2 clip, as well as finishing 5th in offensive rebounding with 88 during the season and 9th in total rebounds with 214. Konstantynovskyi finished the season with 44 blocks which ranked 2nd in the NJCAA.
"Nikita was exactly what we were looking for as we sought to add size and versatility to our roster this spring," said Haith, "He is all of 6'10" and is a willing rebounder and shot blocker."
Before attending Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, Konstantynovskyi attended Secondary School No. 163 in the Ukraine.
"What makes the big man unique and special is his ability to handle the ball. He can put the ball on the deck and score at all three levels," continued Haith. "To be an incoming sophomore and to have that skill set, we feel we are adding one of the top big men from the junior college ranks with an extremely high ceiling."
Konstantynovskyi joins Jeriah Horne, Sam Griffin, Anthony Pritchard, Tim Dalger, Gavyn Elkamil and Sterling Gaston-Chapman in the Hurricane 2021 signing class.
