No. 15 Iowa State got 20 points from Milan Momcilovic and used an 18-3 run midway through the first half to roll to an 82-55 win against Lipscomb Friday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at Fiserv Forum.
The 27-point margin of victory is the most lopsided win for the Cyclones in the NCAA Tournament in program history.
How it Happened
Iowa State owned a 40-24 edge at the break behind 60 percent shooting, thanks to Momcilovic's 17-point outburst and a dominant 26-6 edge in points in the paint.
The opening half was close with Lipscomb taking a 16-15 lead with 11:18 remaining. Then Momcilovic caught fire, leading the Cyclones on a 14-0 run in which the sophomore scored 12 of the 14 points as ISU went up 29-16. The Cyclones kept the double-digit lead as it went into the break up 16 points.
Iowa State opened up the second half with a 15-6 run that effectively put the game away.
The Cyclones shot 58 percent from the field as a team and owned a 50-20 edge on points in the paint.
Top Performers
Momcilovic paced the Cyclones with 20 points, 17 of which came in the first half. He finished 8-of-14 from the field, connecting on four 3-pointers.
Curtis Jones (17), Tamin Lipsey (10) and Joshua Jefferson (10) were also in double figures for Iowa State.
Jefferson also had eight boards and eight assists as well for the Cyclones.

- Momcilovic now has 62 3-pointers made this, the third-best total by a sophomore in school history.
- Curtis Jones finished with 17 points, crossing the 1,500-point mark in his career.
- Joshua Jefferson finished the game with three steals, running his total for the season to 72 which places him in seventh-place all-time on ISU's single-season record list.
