No. 3 Iowa State (10-1, 0-0 Big 12) wrapped up its non-conference season in a 99-72 victory over Morgan State (6-9, 0-0 MEAC) Sunday afternoon in Hilton Coliseum.

The Cyclones have reached 80+ points in all 11 games this season, setting a new school-record-streak, and will enter Big 12 play with a 25-game homecourt winning streak, the second-longest in school history.

Tamin Lipsey (20 points, 8-9 FG) and Keshon Gilbert (18 points, 8-9 FG), who combined for 38 points on 16-of-18 shooting, helped the Cyclones connect on a season-high 61.0 percent of their shots. It marked the sixth time in its last seven games ISU has made over half its shots.

Curtis Jones added 19 points and was one of six Cyclones in double-figure scoring, which included Joshua Jefferson, who tallied a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Morgan State's Kameron Hobbs led all players with 23 points.

How it Happened
Iowa State made its first eight shots from the floor and raced out to a 17-3 lead to begin the game. Gilbert made four shots and scored eight points to aid ISU's fast start.

The Bears weren't fazed, however, bouncing back with a 13-3 run to close the gap to 20-16 midway through the first half. Hobbs had nine points to keep Morgan State within reach, but the Cyclones soon picked up the intensity and rattled off an 11-0 run to move ahead 37-22 with under six minutes remaining in the first half. Lipsey hit a trey and Jefferson scored four points in the run.

ISU scored three-straight baskets, including a lay-up by Lipsey at the buzzer, to give the Cyclones a 50-34 lead at the break. Gilbert and Lipsey led the way with 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Both teams caught fire after intermission, each making 6-of-8 shots to begin the half as the Cyclones held a 65-47 lead at the first media timeout.

A 3-pointer by Jones gave the Cyclones a 72-49 lead, but the Bears kept playing hard, running off 10-2 spurt to cut the lead to 74-59 with under 10 minutes remaining. It was the closest the Bears got, as the Cyclones led by as many as 24 points a few minutes later behind a pair of baskets from Milan Momcilovic.

Joshua Jefferson has continued to make his presence known in the paint, recording his fifth double-double of the season, and the fourth in the last five games, with 11 points and 12 rebounds. He also had three assists in the win.
