Memphis Tiger head men's basketball coach Penny Hardaway has announced the final pieces of the team's non-conference schedule for the 2024-25 season. The 13-game pre-conference slate includes six home contests and at least seven games against power conference opponents.

After owning one of the nation's toughest non-conference schedules, Hardaway – who has never shied away from scheduling aggressively - has once again loaded up, facing eight teams that finished in the NET's top 76 from a year ago. The schedule also features 10 games against KenPom top-100 teams with no opponents that finished outside the top 150 last season.

The slate is dotted with three matchups inside FedExForum against SEC opponents and back-to-back AAC road trips in December, in addition to a loaded field at the 2024 Maui Invitational which features four teams ranked in the top 11 of ESPN's "Way Too Early Top 25", including back-to-back defending national champion UConn.

The American Athletic Conference schedule will be announced at a later date. The Tigers will play home-and-home series with Florida Atlantic, UAB, South Florida, Temple, Wichita State, and Rice. They will also host Tulsa, North Texas and East Carolina and travel to Tulane, Charlotte and UTSA.

FedExForum has been one of the most electric environments in college basketball under Hardaway, as the Tigers own an 82-13 overall mark (86.3%) at home over the last six seasons.

Fans will get their first look at the 2024-25 Tigers at the inaugural Hoops for St. Jude Tip Off Classic – an exhibition against national powerhouse North Carolina at FedExForum on Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. The contest is an NCAA-approved charity exhibition benefiting St. Jude that will also see the Memphis women's basketball team host defending national champion South Carolina at 8:30 p.m.

The Tigers will get one more tuneup on Oct. 28 against Final Four participant and consensus preseason top-5 Alabama in Huntsville at the Von Braun Center Propst Arena in the 2024 Rocket City Classic. The game will also be a charity exhibition with all proceeds supporting the Huntsville Hospital Foundation.

Memphis officially kicks off the campaign in 48 days with a home game against Missouri (Nov. 4).

The Tigers will make their first road trip of the season on Nov. 9 with a visit to Las Vegas to take on UNLV. The two sides haven't met on the hardwood in 27 years, and it will be Memphis' first stop on the Runnin' Rebels' campus since Feb. 8, 1986.

After a Nov. 15 date at home against Ohio University, the Tigers will embark on their longest road swing of the non-confernece schedule as they head west. On its way out to the Maui Invitational, Memphis will make a pitstop at the Chase Center – home of the Golden State Warriors – to take on the University of San Francisco on Nov. 21.

Memphis is making its sixth appearance overall in the Maui Invitational, but its first since 2011. The Tigers will take on UConn in the tournament's opening game on Nov. 25. They will then face either Michigan State or Colorado in the second round on Nov. 26 before completing the event on Thanksgiving Eve (Nov. 27). Potential matchups in the final game includes Auburn, Iowa State, North Carolina or Dayton.

The Tigers' schedule is loaded in the month of December with four consecutive power conference matchups after hosting Louisiana Tech (Dec. 4) and Arkansas State (Dec. 8).

Memphis will return road trips to Clemson (Dec. 14) – an Elite Eight participant last season – and Virginia (Dec. 18) before double-dipping with home games against regional rivals from the Magnolia State, which begins a pair of home-and-home series.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs will make the trek to the Bluff City on Dec. 21 for the Tigers' final game before Christmas, then will return from the break to welcome Ole Miss on Dec. 28 to close out the non-conference portion of the schedule.

Game times will be announced at a later date for all games.
