The University of Dayton announced its men's basketball non-conference scheduley, beginning with Saint Francis and Northwestern in the first week, and ending with an impressive Marquette-UNLV-Cincinnati stretch in seven days before Christmas break. In between are three games against a loaded field at the Maui Invitational just before Thanksgiving.

Including the potential opponents at the Maui Invitational, 11 of the 17 teams the Flyers could play won at least 20 games last season. Seven teams in the Maui field played in the 2024 NCAA tournament, including defending national champion UConn.

The Flyers' home slate includes a preseason NCAA-sanctioned charity exhibition game with Xavier, "The Spotlight To Shine A Light On Mental Health Presented by CareSource" on Sunday, Oct. 20, and a more traditional exhibition game against an opponent to be determined later on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Dayton opens the regular season with five home games, beginning against Saint Francis on Monday, Nov. 4. The Flyers will play Northwestern on Saturday, Nov. 9, Ball State on Wednesday, Nov. 13, Capital on Saturday, Nov. 16, and New Mexico State on Wednesday, Nov. 20 before travelling to Maui.

Returning to the Lahaina Civic Center Nov. 25, 26 and 27 for the first time since the tragic wildfires of 2023, the Maui Invitational will announce its bracket at a later date. Auburn, Colorado, Iowa State, Memphis, Michigan State, North Carolina and UConn will join the Flyers on the Valley Isle.

Dayton is back home for four more games at UD Arena – Tuesday, Dec. 3 against Western Michigan, Lehigh on Saturday, Dec. 7, Marquette on Saturday, Dec. 14 and UNLV on Tuesday, Dec. 17 – before closing out the non-conference schedule in Cincinnati to face UC in the Hoops Classic presented by CareSource on Friday, Dec. 20.

The last time an active Big Ten team played the Flyers at UD Arena was 1997. For the Big East, it was 2003.

Game times will be announced at a later date, as will the complete Atlantic 10 schedule.

With the non-conference schedule now finalized, UD season ticketholders should look for invoices to be sent Monday, August 12.

Dayton returns three starters from last year's squad that posted a 25-8 overall mark and finished third in the Atlantic 10 Conference standings. The Flyers earned a No. 7 seed in the NCAA tournament, advancing to the second round.
