Utah head men's basketball coach Craig Smith announced the addition of Ibrahima Traore for the upcoming season. The 6-9, 225-pound forward hails from Bamako, Mali, and comes to Salt Lake City from West Oaks Academy in Orlando, Fla.

"We are thrilled to announce the addition of Ibrahima to the Runnin' Utes basketball family," Smith said. "Ibrahima plays with tremendous energy and passion. He is an excellent rebounder and rim protector, and has a relentlessness to his game that seems to never stop."

Traore played the past three seasons at West Oaks Academy and is a 2024 graduate of the school. Last year, as a senior, he averaged 18 points per game.

Traore joins a 2024-25 freshman class that also was bolstered by six players who have transferred into the Runnin' Utes program this offseason: Keanu Dawes, Mason Madsen, Zach Keller, Miro Little, Ezra Ausar and Mike Sharavjamts.
