Oklahoma State men's basketball players Weston Church, Carson Sager and John-Michael Wright all made the first team of the Winter 2024 Academic All-Big 12 squad, released by the conference office.
Church and Sager were among the four Big 12 men's basketball players listed with perfect 4.0 GPAs.
To qualify for Academic All-Big 12 status, student-athletes must have competed in upwards of 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests and achieved at least a 3.0 GPA, either cumulatively or over the two previous semesters (3.20+ for first team honors). Freshman and transfers in their first year of academic residence were not eligible.
Church – a sports management major from Fairview, Okla. – and Sager -- a computer science and electrical engineering double major from Wichita Falls, Texas – are both second time honorees and 2024 spring graduates.
Wright – a Fayetteville, N.C. native – has been working toward a master's degree in leisure studies after graduating from OSU in the spring of 2023 with a bachelor's in university studies.
Over the last four seasons, OSU has placed 19 men's basketball players on Academic All-Big 12 teams, including 16 on the first team.
