Boise State senior Derrick Alston, Jr. has been named the Mountain West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Broncos to a pair of wins over Utah State.

- Helped Boise State sweep the two-game series against Utah State, overtaking the Aggies for first place in the Mountain West standings.
- Averaged 24.5 points, 2.5 assists and 2.0 rebounds, while connecting on 47.1 percent from the field and 46.2 percent from the 3-point line. Also made 11-of-12 attempts from the free-throw line.
- Scored 26 points and grabbed three boards in the 79-70 victory to open the series. Made 3-of-6 from long range and dished out three assists.
- Netted 23 points behind an 8-of-17 effort from the field in the 81-77 win. Also tallied two assists.
- Led the Broncos’ comeback in the second half of Friday’s series finale, scoring nine-straight points during the 9-2 run that gave Boise State the lead with four minutes left on the clock.
