NC State sophomore guard Terquavion Smith was named to the All-ACC Preseason First Team as announced by the conference office.
Smith was an All-ACC Rookie Team member and honorable mention All-ACC team selection last season as a freshman. He was named ACC Freshman of the Week four times.
The Greenville, N.C., native started 25 of 32 games, including all 20 ACC games, and averaged 16.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He shot 39.8 percent from the field, including 36.9 percent from three-point range. His 16.3 scoring average was eighth-highest in the ACC and second amongst the league's freshman.
Smith made 96 three-pointers which were the most in program history by a freshman and third-most in a single-season in program history. His 96 three-pointers are fourth-most by a freshman in ACC history and his 3.0 three-pointers per game average led the ACC and was the first freshman to lead the ACC in three-pointers made since Duke's J.J. Redick in the 2002-03 season.
The ACC preseason poll was also announced Tuesday night and the Pack was picked to finish 10th in the conference by the 101 media voters.
NC State plays its lone exhibition game of the season on Wednesday, Nov. 2 when it hosts Lee-McRae at PNC Arena. The Pack opens the regular season on Monday, Nov. 7 against Austin Peay at PNC Arena.
