The American Athletic Conference has announced its men’s basketball conference schedule for the 2022-23 season.
Every team in The American will play eight of its 10 conference opponents twice and the other two opponents once – one at home and one on the road.
The 2022-23 season will be The American’s third under its media rights extension with ESPN, which will allow for a minimum of 60 conference-controlled games to be televised on either ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU. A minimum of 23 of those games will be on either ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.
The conference slate begins with three matchups on Wednesday, December 28, including defending American Athletic Conference champion Houston traveling to Tulsa.
CBS will broadcast two conference games: Cincinnati at Houston on Saturday, January 28, and Houston at Memphis on Sunday, March 5, the final day of the regular season. In addition, the Cougars will host Alabama on ABC in a non-conference matchup set for Saturday, December 10.
The remaining conference-controlled games will be on ESPN+, ESPN’s direct-to-consumer streaming service which reaches nearly 23 million subscribers and is available at espnplus.com. For more information on ESPN+, visit The American’s Fan Guide to ESPN+.
All games that are televised on an ESPN network will also be available on the ESPN App to authenticated pay TV subscribers.
CBS Sports’ broadcast coverage will be available to stream live on Paramount+, with additional coverage on CBSSports.com and CBS Sports HQ.
The 2023 American Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Championship will take place March 9-12 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. All games of the championship will be televised on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU, including the championship final on ESPN.
The American will preview the 2022-23 season Oct. 12 and 13 when the league hosts its Basketball Media Days on ESPN+. Coverage will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 9 a.m. Eastern and continues on Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. Eastern.
