Mississippi State men's basketball coach Chris Jans landed a familiar face to the program as Will McNair Jr. officially had his Athletic Scholarship Agreement (ASA) processed.
McNair Jr., a 6-10 forward from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, played for two of Jans' WAC Championship squads at New Mexico State during the last three seasons. He has two years of collegiate eligibility remaining which includes a COVID season.
"Will will prove to be a great addition to our team next season," Jans said. "Will has shown the ability to be productive against quality competition. We are thrilled he is joining our Bulldog basketball family."
Each season, McNair Jr. improved his stat averages in every major category under Jans headlined by 6.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.7 blocks per game in 2021-22. He started 27 of 34 games and both NCAA Tournament contests for the Aggies.
McNair Jr.'s top performances include a career-best 18 points at UTEP (Dec. 3) on a 9-of-12 shooting effort in the Battle for I-10 matchup. He also posted double-doubles with 12 points and a career-high 15 rebounds against Indiana State (Nov. 21) coupled with 14 points and 14 rebounds at Seattle (Feb. 21).
