No. 5 seed TCU erased a 20-point deficit to defeat No. 4 seed and No. 22 ranked Texas, 65-60, in the quarterfinals of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Championship.

The Horned Frogs (20-11) trailed 40-20 with 45 seconds remaining in the half before a Mike Miles layup made the deficit 18 points at halftime. It was the largest comeback in the Jamie Dixon era and the second-largest halftime deficit overcome at the Phillips 66 Men's Basketball Championship.
 
TCU outscored Texas 31-12 throughout the half to come back and take the lead, 53-52, with 6:22 remaining after a jumper by Emanuel Miller. 
 
The Longhorns (21-11) fought back to lead by four, 59-55, with 2:41 to play after a three by Courtney Ramey. The Frogs ended the game on a 9-1 run, six of the nine points came from Eddie Lampkin, who finished with 10 points and nine rebounds. 
 
Francisco Farabello iced the game with two free throws in the final 15 seconds to put TCU up by four points. 
 
Baugh scored a game-high 17 points on 3-of-4 shooting from 3-point range. Miles finished with 13 points. Miller led the Frogs' rebounding effort with 12. TCU outrebounded Texas, 38-31.
 
TCU advanced to the semifinals and will face top seed and No. 6 ranked Kansas at 6 p.m. on Friday on ESPN2.

  • TCU improved to 6-9 in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Championship and advanced to the semifinals for the second time in program history. 
  • TCU snapped a seven-game losing streak to Texas and improved to 69-118 all-time against the Longhorns. 
  • TCU won its 20th game of the season. The Frogs have four 20-win seasons in the six years under Jamie Dixon.

It was also the second-largest comeback at halftime in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Championship. The largest was in 2009, when Texas Tech defeated Texas A&M after trailing by 19, 48-29, at the half.
  • TCU outrebounded Texas, 38-31. TCU improved to 18-6 this season and 99-32 under Dixon when outrebounding its opponent.
  • The Frogs outshot the Longhorns, 43.1 percent to 40.7 percent and improved to 16-3 this season and 99-23 under Dixon when outshooting its opponent. 

Individual Notes

  • Mike Miles scored 13 points, his 22nd game scoring in double-figures.  
  • Micah Peavy tied a season-high with two blocks. It was his second-straight game and the sixth time this season he's had two blocks this season.
  • Damion Baugh had a team-high 17 points, his 15th game in double figures.
  • Baugh was 3-of-4 from the field. It tied a career-high for made threes, which he's done five times now this season. 
  • Emanuel Miller had a team-high 12 rebounds to go with nine points. It was his 14th time leading the team in rebounds this season.
  • Eddie Lampkin was one rebound away from a double-double. He had 10 points and nine rebounds. It was the fifth time he had double-figures in points this season.
