Wichita State University junior infielder Paxton Wallace has signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Los Angeles Angels, it was announced.
A native of Greenbrier, Ark., Wallace excelled at the plate in 2021, posting a .322 batting average with 67 hits, 45 runs scored, 11 doubles, two triples, 11 home runs, a team-best 49 RBI, 21 walks and five stolen bases in 54 games played.
He was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Conference First Team and earned an ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award at third base after committing just six errors on 160 chances for a .963 fielding percentage in 2021.
Wallace graduated with a bachelor's degree in sport management from Wichita State in May 2021.
