California standouts Dylan Beavers and Josh White will be two of the 48 college baseball players to represent the United States this summer, as both were selected to the 2021 Collegiate National Team.

Instead of playing international competition, the Collegiate National Team will be split into two teams, the Stars and Stripes, and will go head-to-head in 11 games beginning July 2. Ten of the team's 11 games will be played in the cities of the Appalachian League, which is in its first season as a summer collegiate league as part of the MLB and USA Baseball's Prospect Development Pipeline. The Collegiate National Team will also play a game at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina on July 4.

The full 2021 Collegiate National Team roster will be announced at a later date.

Beavers, who received a slew of accolades following his breakout 2021 season including NBCWA All-America and ABCA All-West Region honors, established himself as one of Pac-12 Conference's bright young stars in his first full collegiate season. An All-Pac-12 First Team selection, Beavers led the conference in home runs (18) at the conclusion of the regular season and slashed .303/.401/.630. The left-handed batter led Cal in multiple statistical categories, including RBI (49), doubles (11), runs (44) and walks (32), and was one of just two Pac-12 players with 10-plus home runs and 10-plus stolen bases at the end of the regular season.

White, who was selected to the NCBWA Freshman All-American squad as a relief pitcher, was one of the Pac-12's most productive arms throughout 2021. Along with posting the conference's second-lowest ERA (2.79), White struck out 81 batters in 61.1 innings pitched and owned a 5-3 record on the mound. An All-Pac-12 honorable mention, White made 11 relief appearances in both long relief and as the closer before making a seamless transition to the front of the weekend rotation during conference play. The Danville, California, native boasted a 1.95 ERA and 5.67 strikeout-to-walk ratio (51 strikeouts, nine walks) in 37.0 innings pitched as a reliever.

With Beavers and White's selections, Cal has had 13 student-athletes play for the Collegiate National Team dating back to 1990. The most recent Golden Bear to play for the Collegiate National Team was Andrew Vaughn in 2018. Beavers and White are also the first Cal teammates to play for the Collegiate National Team at the same time since Xavier Nady and Mike Tonis in 1999.
