The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bennett Lee, Fr., C, Tulane
Lee hit .600 for the week, going 6-for-10 with three runs scored and three runs driven in in a three-game sweep of Wichita State. The freshman catcher had a hit in each of the three games, including three in the series finale on Sunday, April 18.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Colton Gordon, R-So., LHP, UCF
Gordon pitched seven scoreless innings with seven strikeouts and only four hits and three walks in a 6-0 win against in-state rival USF on Friday, April 16.
HONOR ROLL
Pablo Ruiz, Fr., UTL, UCF
Ruiz hit .429 (6-14) with two runs, three doubles, a home run and four runs driven in a 3-1 series win over in-state rival USF.
Jace Mercer, Gr., INF, Cincinnati
Mercer hit .556 (10-18) with four runs, a double, a home run and a pair of runs driven in as the Bearcats won three-of-four games at Memphis.
Garrett Schoenle, Sr., LHP, Cincinnati
Schoenle had seven strikeouts in six innings of work with four hits, four walks and an unearned run against Memphis on Friday.
Riley Hogan, R-Jr., 1B, USF
Hogan hit .444 (8-18) with three runs, two doubles and five RBI against UCF. The redshirt junior had five hits in a win on Saturday.
Jack Aldrich, Jr., LHP, Tulane
Aldrich picked up the win for the Green Wave in a 3-2 victory on Friday with one run allowed in six innings of work with six strikeouts.
