Kansas’ Brady Ballinger (player) and Oklahoma State’s duo of Harrison Bodendorf (pitcher) and Sean Youngerman (newcomer) were named the Big 12 Baseball weekly award recipients for games ending April 6.

Ballinger recorded his second career multi-homer game in the series opener against UCF as he finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored, two home runs and three RBI. The sophomore infielder scored multiple runs in three of the Jayhawks’ four games and added three home runs in three games. Over the weekend, he finished with two three-hit performances against the Knights to help Kansas sweep the series. Ballinger concluded the series with a 3-for-5 performance with four runs, one homer and two RBI. His season averages in batting average (.408), slugging percentage (.792), on-base percentage (.562), runs scored (46), hits (51), doubles (10) and total bases (99) lead the team.

Bodendorf earned the series-opening win against then-No. 22 Kansas State with a career-high 12 strikeouts. The 7.0 innings pitched by the junior lefty set a career-high, besting his previous high of 5 2/3 innings. He allowed just two hits and one unearned run against the Wildcats, who entered the series with an average of 8.5 runs per game. The win was his sixth this year, tying him for the most by a Big 12 pitcher this season.

Youngerman pitched 8.0 scoreless innings in Oklahoma State’s series-clinching win over Kansas State in his second start this season. The right-handed junior racked up a career-high 11 strikeouts against the Wildcats, an offense that ranked in the top 25 nationally in slugging percentage entering the series. He surpassed his previous career-high of five innings as he threw 133 pitches and retired the first 17 batters he faced before surrendering his first hit with two outs in the fifth inning. He finished by giving up just three hits and didn’t issue a walk in OSU’s 7-0 win.
