Maryland baseball overcame a six-run deficit in the second inning to defeat George Mason, 15-8, at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium. Maryland is now 13-12 heading into its weekend home series against Northwestern.

Tied at 8-8 in the bottom of the eight, Alex Calarco drove in the go-ahead runs with a two-RBI double down the right-field line. Jacob Orr and Hollis Porter followed with RBI doubles of their own, and several others pitched in to cap off a nine-run inning that gave Maryland its first lead of the game. Calarco and Orr were also both hitless before recording their clutch knocks.

George Mason (16-9) led for almost the entirety of the contest by scoring six runs through the opening two innings. The Terps entered the eighth trailing 8-6. Brayden Martin and Eddie Hacopian got the Terps' offense flowing as each hit RBI singles.

Overall, all nine batters in Maryland's lineup batted in a run. Four Terps — Hacopian Calarco, Porter and Hill — each recorded two RBIs. Porter knocked in his other run with a 450-foot solo home run to right-center in the second inning for the Terps' first run of the day. It was the ninth homer of the season for the sophomore.

Five Terps posted multiple hits. They included Martin (3-for-4), Hacopian (4-for-6), Porter (3-for-5), Hill (2-for-4) and Lambros (3-for-5). Hacopian matched his career-high with four hits, simultaneously setting a season-high. He's had a four-hit game in each of his three seasons in College Park. Martin (3), Orr (3), Porter (2) and Lambros (2) each recorded multiple runs scored.

Devin Milberg and Andrew Johnson collaborated for six strong innings of relief. Together, they struck out six batters, surrendering only two runs. Johnson was credited with the win, his first of the season. Joey McMannis recorded the final three outs and allowed just one base runner.
