For the first time in program history, Oklahoma baseball won the Big 12 regular season championship, using a three-game sweep of Baylor to clinch the title. The Sooners have won 13 of their last 15 Conference games to win the title with a 21-6 record with three games remaining.

Oklahoma had a wire-to-wire lead over the Big 12 standings, sitting in first or a tie for first place after every weekend of Big 12 play. OU, who has posted six sweeps of Conference opponents, swept four of its last five weekend series.

Oklahoma previously had finished as close as a half-game out of first place in 2004 and 2009, and most recently finished in a tie for second place in 2022. The Sooners have won three Big 12 postseason championships in 1997, 2013 and 2022.

The ten-team field is now set for the upcoming Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, May 21-25, with Oklahoma securing the No. 1 seed in the event. The Sooners will be joined by UCF, Cincinnati, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech and West Virginia.
