The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors for the 11th week of the regular season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Carter Cunningham, Sr., 1B, East Carolina
Cunningham hit .562 (9-16) with nine runs scored, three doubles, three home runs and 10 RBI as the Pirates went 4-0 with a win over No. 21 NC State and a sweep of Memphis that vaulted ECU into first place in The American standings. The senior recorded at least two runs, two hits and one RBI in each of the four wins.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Trey Yesavage, Jr., East Carolina
Yesavage nearly completed a 7-inning no-hitter against Memphis on Friday night. The junior pitched 6.2 innings with the lone hit in the seventh, two walks and 12 strikeouts in the 14-0 victory.
HONOR ROLL
Blayze Berry, Sr., P, UAB
Berry allowed two runs and three hits with no walks and nine strikeouts in a 6-inning winning performance against Charlotte on Friday night.
Christian Adams, Sr., INF, Florida Atlantic
Adams hit .375 (6-16) with four runs, two home runs and six RBI in four games for the Owls, including a series win at South Florida.
Ben Dukes, Sr., OF, Rice
Dukes helped lead Rice to a series win over UTSA by hitting .538 (7-13) with four runs scored, two home runs and seven runs driven in.
Ulises Quiroga, Sr., P, UTSA
Quiroga earned the win on Sunday against Rice, pitching seven innings with four hits and two runs allowed with one walk and eight strikeouts.
Teo Banks, Jr., OF, Tulane
Banks hit .429 (6-14) with four runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and eight RBI as the Green Wave played in four games last week, including a series win at Wichita State.
