TCU scored early and often in picking up a 15-7 win over Texas in the series finale on Monday afternoon. Kurtis Byrne homered and drove in five to lead the Horned Frogs' offensive outburst.

The Rundown
Facing a 2-0 deficit after the top of the first, TCU wasted little time responding. Elijah Nunez led off the frame with a base hit and scored easily on an Anthony Silva double. With the bases-loaded and two out, Austin Davis lined a single to center to give the Frogs a 3-2 lead.

TCU gave itself some breathing room in the third on the strength of a two out, three run home run off the bat of Kurtis Byrne.

The Frogs exploded for seven runs on seven hits in the fourth to open up a 13-2 lead. Davis got the scoring started with an RBI single. Byrne singled home two runs to make it a 9-2 ballgame.

After a wild pitch brought home another run, Tre Richardson singled to right for an 11-2 lead. Brayden Taylor hit a sacrifice fly and Silva's second hit of the inning drove in Richardson.

TCU responded to two Texas fifth inning runs with two of its own. Logan Maxwell's first career home run restored TCU's double-digit lead, 15-4. Texas scored twice in the sixth and once in the seventh to account for the final score.

Sam Stoutenborough started for the Frogs and tossed 2 1/3 innings. He allowed two unearned runs on two hits. He walked one and struck out four. Cohen Feser (1-0) picked up the win in relief. Ben Abeldt closed out the contest with 2 1/3 scoreless.
