Arizona catcher Daniel Susac further etched his name into program record books on, picking up three postseason honors from various outlets.
Susac was tabbed as a Second Team All-American by both the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Perfect Game while also earning First Team West All-Region recognition from the American Baseball Coaches Association. With the latter selection, Susac is now eligible to be named to the ABCA's All-American team, which is set to be released later this week.
The sophomore campaign put together by Susac in 2022 was one of the most successful seasons in program history. The Roseville, California native posted just the 10th 100-hit season in Arizona history on the way to registering an astounding .366 batting average. Susac also picked up 50 runs scored, 19 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs, and 61 RBI to go with a .582 slugging percentage and .429 on-base percentage.
Susac's hits came in bunches, with the standout sophomore logging 33 multi-hit performances, the fourth best single-season mark in program history — he finished the year with more multi-hit games than games with zero or one hit.
As Arizona's everyday starting catcher he was an essential piece of the team's defensive effort as well, turning in a .987 fielding percentage on 452 chances while throwing out nine attempted base stealers.
