It was a scoreless game through five innings before UH got on the board in the sixth. Sophomore first baseman Kyson Donahue led off the inning with a walk and moved to second on a passed ball. The next batter grounded out to second base moving Donahue over to third. Sophomore third baseman Aaron Ujimori rolled one to the right side of the infield that allowed Donahue to cross and take a 1-0 lead.
The 'Bows struck again in the top of the eighth when Kyson Donahue blasted a no-doubter of a home run over the right-field wall for his fifth of the season, extending the lead 2-0.
In the ninth, Hawai'i scraped across two more insurance runs as senior left fielder Scotty Scott, and freshman shortstop Jordan Donahue walked. With two outs and runners on first and second, sophomore second baseman Stone Miyao came up clutch and took a ball to left-center, which scored Jordan Donahue from first and gave UH a 4-0 lead headed into the ninth.
Junior pitcher Dalton Renne who came on to pitch in the seventh, stayed in to close things out in the ninth, where he picked up his sixth save.
Graduate pitcher Andy Archer did not qualify for the win only going four innings, but he gave up no runs on three hits while striking out three. Sophomore reliever Connor Harrison (3-1) was credited with today's win where he went two and two-thirds innings giving up no runs on two hits.
The 'Bows had three hits, resulting in the game's four runs with Miyao leading the way with two RBIs. The team came one walk short of tying their season-high with 10, as four players had multiple walks. Scott led the way with three walks and accounted for a run as well.
The Rainbow Warriors will hop on a bus tomorrow and drive to Riverside for their last road game of the season. The first pitch is slated for 2:00 p.m. HT.
