Eight former Cowboy and Cowgirl track & field athletes are entered for the U.S. Olympic Trials scheduled for this week from June 21-30 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.

Back-to-back Shot Put Outdoor World Champion Chase Jackson (nee Ealey) is aiming to make her first Olympic team in the red, white and blue after becoming the first American woman to win a world championship in the Shot Put in 2022. Jackson also holds the American record in the event and is a two-time Diamond League winner, in addition to her silver and bronze medals at the 2022 and 2024 indoor championships.

Three former Cowgirl national champions will also be attempting to make their first Olympic team in Kaela Edwards (800 Meters), Sinclaire Johnson (1,500 Meters) and Taylor Roe (5,000 & 10,000 Meters).

Edwards and Johnson have each competed on the international stage for the USA, as Edwards made the U.S team in the 800 Meters at the World Championships last year and Johnson qualified for both the 2022 and 2023 World Championships in the 1,500 Meters. As Cowgirls, the pair each won an NCAA title individually, with Edwards taking home the title in the 2016 Indoor Mile and Johnson winning her title in the 2019 Outdoor 1,500 Meters.

Roe is looking to make her first U.S. team after wrapping up a storied career in the orange and black this past season. She will be competing in both the 5,000 and 10,000 Meters. Teammate Molly Born is also making her Olympic Trials debut in the 5,000 Meters, with both women competing in the first heat at trials.

On the men's side, Josh Thompson is attempting to make his first Olympic team and third U.S. team overall. Thompson has qualified for the U.S. at both the 2022 indoor and outdoor World Championships in the 1,500 Meters, advancing all the way to the final at the 2022 outdoor championships.

Craig Nowak will be aiming for his first professional U.S. team, with his only appearance in the red, white and blue coming at the U20 World Cross Country Championships in 2013. Nowak finished 12th at last year's U.S. Championships in the Steeplechase.

Rounding out the field is Alex Maier, who will be competing in the 5,000 Meters at his first U.S. trials. Maier recently finished his Cowboy career as an eight-time All-American and was the 10,000 Meter Runner-Up at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

The entirety of the U.S. Olympic Trials will be streamed on Peacock starting at noon CT each day, with television broadcast beginning on NBC every night at 7:45 p.m., 7 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., respectively. USA Network will pick up the broadcast at 8 p.m. on Sunday and 7 p.m. on Monday.
