Pole Vaulter Sam Mrky was named the Mountain West Men's Field Athlete of the Week after his performance at the Kit Mayer Invitational last weekend.

Despite the cold, Mrky recorded a personal-best mark in the pole vault, clearing 5.11 meters, good for second in the Mountain West standings and eighth in the NCAA Mountain Region.

Mrky's mark also moves him up to tied for second all-time in the CSU record book, just behind teammate Eldridge Harris.

The Rams will continue their outdoor season by hosting the Doug Max Invitational this weekend at the Jack Christiansen Memorial Track Saturday, April 27 beginning at 10 a.m.
